Emotional Stability

Do we inherit 
    emotional stability

Can we learn it
Or must we earn it

There are many factors 
    I suppose
The more ways the better 
    for confidence to grow

My parents are the source 
    of my stability
They never said a word 
    to cut me down

My parents never said much 
    to build me up either
A level playing field 
    was enough

Taking on challenges 
    and seeing it through
Not wasting my education 
    I could feel that too

Doing things for myself 
    That was how I lived

In the end everything I’ve done 
    had something to do with
    you know who




My inspirational fuel 
    turns out to be Mom and Dad

I refill my tank 
    when they are on my mind

With them in the picture
    there is no telling 
    what else I can do
