I have a Bird in spring                                我在春天拥有一只鸟
 Which for myself doth sing -                    它只为我一人而歌唱—
 The spring decoys.                                    那满眼的春色在招引。
 And as the summer nears -                      可是当夏天越来越近           
 And as the Rose appears,                         又初绽了玫瑰，
 Robin is gone.                                           便不见了知更鸟。
 
Yet do I not repine                                     只是我并未憔悴
 Knowhing that Bird of mine                      知道我的那只鸟
 Though flown -                                         虽已飞去
 Learneth beyond the sea                          自会在海的那一边
 Melody new for me                                  为我学得新的玄歌妙律
 And will return.                                         再飞回。
 
Fast in safer hand                                      握在更牢靠的手指间
 Held in a truer Land                                 拢于一片更坚实的大地
